Bridges to Community: Aid to Nicaraguan Children

Bridges to Community, Inc. is a nonprofit community development organization that takes groups of volunteers to Central America to work, learn and reflect (see also "Work Trips").

Through Bridges, we support projects in "Aid to Nicaraguan Children." Current projects include:
  • Establishing a library, vegetable garden, basketball/volleyball court, and in-house vocational programs for an orphanage/social service enter in Somoto, Nicaragua
  • Educational sponsorships for vocational school and higher education
What Our Church Does: Financial support; develops projects and recruits volunteers.

What You Can Do:
  • Be an educational sponsor for a Nicaraguan child, with whom you may correspond
    • Vocational school: $75-$150 per year
    • Books and other expenses for college (tuition is free): about $550 per year

  • Participate in a service trip - available to adults and families - schedules throughout the year. For high school participation, see "Work Trips"
When: Ongoing or as scheduled

Volunteers: Adult, Family
