Northern Westchester Shelter

The shelter provides a safe haven for victims of domestic violence. It served 205 women and children in 1997 with programs including: emergency food and shelter, bilingual 24-hour hotline, coordination of support services, counseling and support groups, women's employment network and legal advocacy and court accompaniment. The shelter recently launched two major endeavors: The Domestic Violence Law Project, providing women with attorneys and trained legal advocates, and its new 16-bed home in the area.
